Wedding at Cana — Venetian spectacle

The painter of magnificence. His enormous feast scenes — The Wedding at Cana, Feast in the House of Levi — fill vast canvases with shimmering fabrics, classical architecture, and hundreds of figures in a celebration of Venetian splendor. The Inquisition summoned him for putting dogs and Germans in a Last Supper; he simply changed the title.
