Orcagna
Tabernacle of Orsanmichele
Painter, sculptor, architect, and the dominant Florentine artist of the generation after the Black Death. His tabernacle at Orsanmichele — an explosion of Gothic marble carving — is the most ambitious sculptural ensemble in fourteenth-century Florence.
