Phenomenology of Spirit
The philosopher of history and the absolute. His system — the most ambitious since Aristotle — claimed to show how Spirit unfolds through history via dialectical opposition and reconciliation. Agree or not, no one after Hegel could think about history, art, or politics the same way.
