De Pictura, Tempio Malatestiano — Renaissance polymath
The ideal of the universal Renaissance man — architect, theorist, humanist, mathematician, and athlete. De Pictura (On Painting) gave artists the theoretical framework for perspective; his buildings — the Tempio Malatestiano, Sant'Andrea in Mantua — translated classical forms into a new architectural language.
